The entrance
examination for MBBD and BDS is conducted by Maharshi Dayanand
University for admission to the Pandit B D Sharma Postgraduate
Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak (115 seats), Maharaja Agarsen
Institute of Medical Research & Education, Agroha (35 seats),
Dental College, Rohtak (20 seats) and DAV Centenary Dental College,
Yamuna Nagar (40 seats) and B R S Institute of Medical Sciences/Dental
College and Hospital, Kotbilla (Panchkula) (60 seats).
Admission:
Admission is open to Residents of Haryana. Candidates should have
studied X, XI and XII Std from an institution located in Haryana.
Government of India nominees are exceptions.
Reservation:
Reservation of seats is as follows: Pandit B D Sharma Medical College
Rohtak All India Entrance 15%, Government of India nominees 2 seats,
SC/ST 19 seats, Socially, educationally,economically weaker sections
of society (other than SC/ST/BC) 9 seats out of which 3 seats are
for girls, Physically handicapped 1 seat, BC 10 seats, Children
of deceased or disabled JCOs and Officers (if there are no such
cases, children of ex-servicemen) 6 seats, Children or grand children
of freedom fighters including INA personnel 2 seats.
Maharaja Agarsen Institute Of Medical
Research and Education Agroha All India entrance 15%, Govt of India
nominee 1 seat, SC/ST 6 seats, Socially, economically, educationally
weaker sections of society (other than SC/ST/BC candidates) 2 seats
(1 for girls), BC 3 seats, Children of deceased or disabled officers,
JCOs and ex-servicemen 2 seats, Children or grand-children of freedom
fighter including INA Personnel 1 seat.
Dental College, Rohtak All India Entrance
15%, BC 2 seats, Government of India nominees. Dav Centenary Dental
College SC/ST 5 seats, BC 2 seats, Children of ex-servicemen 1 seat.
Eligibility:
Candidates must be at least 17 years of age on December 31 of the
year of admission. Candidates must pass 12th standard Senior Secondary
exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing 50% (40%
for SC/ST) aggregate marks. Candidates with BSc/BVSc/BSc (Nursing)/MSc
qualifications securing 50% aggregate marks are also eligible. They
should have passed the qualifying exam (12th class) with English,
Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates, whose results are awaited,
can also apply.
Application Procedure:
The prospectus containing the admission form and syllabus for the
entrance exam can be obtained from the Assistant Registrar, (Publications),
M D University, Rohtak 124001 on cash payment of Rs 250 or as notified.
Completed applications should be sent by registered post or personally
delivered to the Controller of Examinations of the university by
the notified date.
Selection:
Selection is based on merit in entrance exam and the interview
held at Rohtak. The test consists of papers on Physics & Chemistry
(combined) and Botany & Zoology (combined) of 2 hours duration
each with objective type questions of 300 marks. The exam is conducted
in English. In case of a tie, marks obtained in the qualifying exam
are taken into consideration. A merit list of candidates called
for the interview is displayed in the university and colleges.
